Uthric’s Festive Message

I started this week with the intention of writing and publishing a new piece as a follow-up to my last post. Sadly, time has not been on my side. The demands of work and the preparations for Christmas have taken up most of my days this week, meaning I haven’t been able to research my prospective post with the thoroughness I would like. Rather than hurriedly throw out a rough article, I’ve decided to save it for the New Year when I’ll have time to do it justice.

What I do have time for, is to say a big thank you to everyone who has followed my blog so far. I started this project a couple of months ago, both as a means to flex my writing muscles (chronically underused in recent years) and to wax lyrical about a much-loved pastime. Rather than bore my circle of friends with my febrile ravings about a game they no longer play and have no intention of returning to, I decided to use a blog as an outlet for all my thoughts and feelings about the World of Warcraft.

In the short time I’ve been writing, I’ve really enjoyed myself and plan to continue the journey into 2019. Amongst the limitless content of the internet, I didn’t begin writing with the expectation of any feedback. Thus it was a heart-warming experience to see people take notice of my blog and compliment the material I’ve put out so far. I’m very grateful to everyone who has taken the time to read, follow and engage with my work, both here and on Twitter. It is a source of tremendous encouragement and I appreciate it very much. Special thanks must also go to Alunaria’s Avenue for kindly recommending and promoting Uthric Unrated to her followers. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to visit Alunaria’s site. It is truly excellent.

So, that’s it, for now at least. The mighty Uthric will shortly be hanging up his sword and doffing his plate armour for a well-earned break. Rest assured, Uthric will return in 2019 (along with his habit of speaking about himself in the third person) but until then, may I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
